It’s that time of year again when Mayo County Council arts office is almost ready to embark on a month long programme of activity for Bealtaine 2011. This is the 16th year of Bealtaine, the national festival which celebrates creativity in older age – co-ordinated nationally by Age and Opportunity. Mary McEvoy, one of Ireland’s best-loved actresses, will launch her first book How The Light Gets In, in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop on Tuesday April 26 at 6.30pm.

After it was twice postponed due to the inclement conditions the Kilkenny Camogie AGM finally took place just before Christmas in the Springhill Hotel.
